Kershaw struck out nine in five strong innings, Xavier Paul hit a tie-breaking RBI single in the sixth, and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 4-3 on Sunday to take the deciding game in the series.

Right-hander Travis Schlichting was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque by the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday and the team returned left-hander Scott Elbert to the Isotopes three days after bringing him up. Schlichting was 2-0 with a 4.05 ERA in 31 1-3 innings at Albuquerque. He had a 16-game stint with the Dodgers last season, allowing two runs (one earned) in 2 2-3 innings in two appearances.

The Dodgers have reinforced their bullpen by recalling left-hander Scott Elbert from Triple-A Albuquerque. The Dodgers designated infielder Nick Green for assignment on Friday before their game against Colorado to make room on the roster for Elbert. Elbert was 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA at Albuquerque. He was 2-0 with a 5.03 ERA in 19 relief appearances for the Dodgers last season.
