For the first time in a quite a while the Los Angeles Dodgers were absolutely crushed in a baseball game.  The New York Mets put a big ole whooping on the Dodgers as they won 12-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

Brad Penny took the loss and his record fell to 5-3 on the season.  Penny only lasted 4 2/3 innings while giving up ten hits and ten earned runs.  Scott Proctor pitche 1 1/3 innings and gave two innings as well.  The bleeding wasn’t stopped until Chan Ho Park came into the game and pitched three inning of hitless baseball.

The lone run for the Dodgers came in the ninth inning when Matt Kemp singled to center field to score Andruw Jones.  The Dodgers as a team only had four hits in the game and they left twelve runners on base in the game.

With the loss, the Dodgers are now 19-15 on the season and 3.5 games behind the league leading Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Los Angeles Dodgers continue to play good baseball as they beat the New York Mets 5-4 on Tuesday night.  The win was the Dodgers tenth win in their last eleven games and they improved their season record to 19-14.

Blake DeWitt hit a inside the park home run in the fifth inning to score the tieing and go ahead run for the Dodgers.  DeWitt who hit is first home run on Monday now has two home runs in under 24 hours!    DeWitt finished the game with four total RBI.

Juan Pierre also scored DeWitt in the second inning to pick up a RBI.

Hiroki Kuroda didn’t have his best stuff as he only lasted 3 1/3 innings after giving up eight hits and four runs.  Only two of the runs were earned however, but Kuroda should have pitched a lot better then he did.

Hong-Chih Kuo ended up pitching 3 2/3 innings of relief after Kurdoa exited the game and he picked up the win which was his second of the season.  Takashi Saito notched his fifth save of the season in the game as well.

The Los Angeles Dodgers hit three home runs on Monday night as they went onto defeat the New York Mets 5-1.  Rafael Furcal got things started with a lead off home run to start the game off of Oliver Perez.  Blake DeWitt and Matt Kemp both went deep in the fifth inning off of Perez as well.

Besides the RBI’s from Furcal, DeWitt, and Kemp, Russell Martin also had a RBI single in the first inning.  The Dodgers only struck out three times in the game and only left seven guys on base.  It was a productive night at the plate.

Chad Billingsley picked up the win for the Dodgers as he tossed six innings of five hit ball.  He did allow one run while walking four batters and striking out four batters.  Joe Beimel, Jonathan Broxton, and Takashi Saito pitched the final three innings without giving up a hit.

The Dodgers are now 18-14 on the season and hope to continue their hot play as they play the Mets again on Tuesday.

The Los Angeles Dodgers broke a 3-3 tie in the top of the ninth inning when Matt Kemp singled to center field to score Rafael Furcal and then Kemp scored on a fielders choice for an insurance run as the Dodgers went onto beat the Marlins 5-3.

Before the excitement in the ninth inning, Andre Ethier and Juan Pierre picked up RBI’s.  Ethier had one RBI while Pierre had a two RBI double.

Hiroki Kuroda started the game for the Dodgers and pitched seven innings while giving up five hits and three runs.  Kuroda got a no decision in the game.  Joe Beimel ended up picking up the win which was his third of the season as he improved to 3-0.  Takashi Saito recorded his fourth save of the season in the game as well.

Nice win for the Dodgers as they improve their record to 15-13 on the season.  Dodgers Blog
